2016

In 2016, I was commissioned to design a suite of maps for a five-part fantasy novel series, called Lunation, ahead of its debut publication. Recognising the importance of creating an accurate geography of a fictional world, my goal was to provide readers with a visual anchor to help them navigate a complex and immersive new narrative.

To bring this world to life, I employed a traditional, hand-drawn approach. This allowed for a level of texture and detail that reflected the tone of the series, transforming the maps from simple diagrams into evocative pieces of storytelling.

Working in close consultation with the author, I translated her intricate world-building into a series of clear, cohesive visual maps. This collaborative process ensured that every coastline, mountain range, and hidden city accurately represented the vision she had envisioned for her readers. By bridging the gap between the written word and the visual page, these maps became an essential companion to the series, enriching the reader's experience of the author's creative world.
