HIV Self-testing

2024 – 2025

In 2024, I was engaged by NAPWHA to work on a campaign for their HIV Self-Testing program. This initiative was designed to provide free, easy, and discreet access to at-home testing, directly addressing the needs of those for whom clinical testing may be geographically or financially inaccessible.

Following its significant initial impact, the program has been successfully scaled to a national level. By removing traditional barriers such as cost, travel, and privacy concerns, this initiative has played a crucial role in expanding testing access to underserved communities and regional areas across Australia.

The creative direction centred on a community-first philosophy, placing community members in the spotlight within a vibrant, supportive, and non-stigmatising visual framework. I developed targeted, app-specific advertising, informational flyers and clinical posters designed for healthcare settings. A second set of posters and app-specific advertising was created for a more sex positive audience.

The project has seen over 50,000 kits distributed nationally to date.

By combining an empowering aesthetic with a multi-channel distribution strategy, this project has helped normalize self-testing as a standard, accessible part of modern health management.
