Peer support program postcards

Thorne Harbour Health

2020

Thorne Harbour Health (formerly the Victorian AIDS Council), one of Australia's largest and oldest community health organisations dedicated to responding to HIV/AIDS and promoting the health and wellbeing of sex, sexuality, and gender diverse communities.

I was commissioned to create a distinct series of illustrations for three of their peer support programs, each targeting specific LGBTQI+ community groups navigating drug and alcohol use.

My core objective was to introduce a visual language of hope and encouragement into resources addressing topics that are inherently serious and often challenging to depict. The resulting cards took a sensitive approach to foster connection and destigmatise help-seeking behavior among community members. This visual strategy ensured the resources were not only informative but also genuinely empathetic and approachable.
