2020

I had the opportunity to collaborate with Amazon Frontlines, an international organisation that partners with Indigenous communities in the Amazon. Their mission is critical: defending ancestral lands, cultures, and rights against industrial threats like oil extraction, while fostering Indigenous autonomy through legal, scientific, and community-led advocacy.

Design process

In 2020, I was invited to design and visual strategy for their annual fundraiser, The Frontlines Challenge. The core objective of this campaign was to facilitate a significant narrative shift—prioritising the voices and expertise of local Indigenous leaders as the primary guardians of the Amazon. I focused on a visual language that emphasised the power, knowledge, and agency of the leaders on the ground.

The visual storytelling needed to be both urgent and hopeful. I used bold typography and authentic photography to highlight the direct connection between Indigenous sovereignty and the health of our global climate.

2021

Building on the success of the Frontlines Challenge fundraiser, I was invited to develop and present a rebranding proposal for Amazon Frontlines. While the final designs were not chosen, the goal was to evolve the organization’s visual identity into a more modern, authoritative system that mirrored their shifting focus toward Indigenous-led climate solutions.

Design process

To ground the brand in its physical environment, I integrated organic shapes and textures inspired by the Amazonian landscape. This provided a tactile, human quality to the professional framework, bridging the gap between high-level legal advocacy and the earth itself.

Collateral was crafted with the intent to engage people who had not yet encountered Amazon Frontlines, the proposal aimed to build trust with high-level donors and international experts while remaining deeply rooted in community values.
