2022 & 2023

I had the privilege of leading the branding and multi-lingual design strategy for the U=U Global Summit, a key pre-conference event held just before the International AIDS Society’s AIDS 2022 Conference in Montréal. This full-day summit successfully convened nearly 600 registered delegates from 73 countries, alongside 50+ global partners, to amplify the life-changing Undetectable=Untransmittable (U=U) movement.

Design Process

  • A unique visual identity was developed, rooted in the movement’s powerful message. A multi-lingual logo system was designed to visually represent that while the phrase 'U=U' is articulated differently across languages, the core, empowering scientific truth—that the virus cannot be passed on—is universally shared.

  • To ensure maximum global engagement, the event's promotional assets were translated and adapted into nine different languages and disseminated across diverse social media platforms.

It was incredibly rewarding to contribute to an event that featured renowned voices—from advocates to policy makers—all dedicated to empowering the transformative potential of U=U.

Following on from the success of the 2022 event in Montreal, a roundtable pre-conference event took place during the IAS 2023 Conference in Brisbane, focusing on the key themes of build, share and advocate.

The U=U logo has been adopted by Prevention Access Campaign (PAC) for their U=U University and for a World Aids Day event in Thailand in 2022.

The animated version of the logo was created by David Bennet from https://doublejinx.net/
