Health+Law branding & reports

Health+Law

2021 – 2025

Health+Law is a research partnership dedicated to identifying and eliminating the legal barriers that hinder testing and treatment for people living with Hepatitis B and HIV in Australia. The initiative aims to minimise the negative impact of legal issues on public health by centring the expertise of community organisations and individuals with lived experience.

In 2021, I was commissioned by the newly formed network to establish their branding and visual identity. Given the sensitive intersection of healthcare, blood-borne viruses (BBVs), and the legal system, I chose an illustrative approach to represent the organisation’s work with nuance and empathy.

Design process

  • For the Legal Needs Study (LeNS), I developed an illustration that captures the concept of untangling the complex intersections of the legal and healthcare systems.

  • A strategic colour-coding system to distinguish between HIV-focused and Hepatitis B-focused content. This system ensures organisational clarity while maintaining a unified brand voice across all publications.

  • Four in-depth reports have been designed, detailing the systemic challenges faced by the community. These paved the way for the forthcoming 200-page comprehensive LeNS study.

  • A comprehensive set of branding guidelines.
